For the second year running, we are thrilled to be part of the Virtual Cheese Awards, organised by Sarah de Wit and the small Virtual Cheese Awards team.

Last year was the inaugural event of the awards, and it is a great pleasure to be supporting the awards and the British cheese industry again. As we saw with our own eyes what a great event it was for all the entrants due to the publicity it generated for them.  Being cheese lovers, is obviously an added advantage, as last year we learnt a lot about all the different cheeses that are made here in Britain, and our knowledge of all the cheese businesses, from the large corporates to the family run businesses was broadened.

Our part of the awards is to ensure inclusion for everyone; facilitating the judging and ensuring all cheeses are scored fairly without bias and it was great to the see the overall winner, Renegade Monk, being a family run business.

This year we are really looking forward to the Recognising Excellence category which is a new addition for this year and includes Sustainability, Innovative Packaging, Accompaniments (crackers and other) and a Cheese Hero.

The prize this year for the overall winner is fantastic, including PR in the Great British Food and Speciality Food magazines, to shelf space in Selfridge’s and membership of the Academy of Cheese, indicating the ascendancy which the awards have across the industry.

Entries for all the 8 categories are closing soon, and if you would like to find out more please visit the VCA website.
